New Delhi: App-based cab aggregator Uber has hiked fares in Mumbai resulting from rising gas costs. Uber stated it has raised fares by 15 per cent, PTI reported.
Diesel and petrol costs have risen by Rs 6.40 per litre every between March 22 and March 31. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel costs per litre are at Rs 116.72 and Rs 100.94 respectively.
Gasoline costs have been hiked by 80 paisa per litre on March 22. Oil costs have been on the rise since March 22 after remaining secure for 137 days owing to meeting elections in 5 states.
“Uber is elevating journey fares in Mumbai by 15 per cent,” Nitish Bhushan, Head of Central Operations, Uber India and South Asia, stated in an announcement.
He stated the hike in fares was to assist cushion drivers from the affect of spike in gas costs.
