Jahangirpuri Violence: Amit Shah Directs Delhi Police To Take Strict Action Against Culprits

New Delhi: Union Residence Minister Amit Shah on Monday directed the Delhi Police to take strict motion in opposition to these concerned within the Jahangirpuri violence on Hanuman Jayanti, PTI reported.

Amit Shah dialled Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana and requested the police to take motion and set a precedent.

Clashes broke out throughout a Hanuman Jayanti procession within the nationwide capital’s Jahangirpuri space on Saturday wherein eight policemen and a civilian had been injured.

Earlier within the day, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana stated 23 folks belonging to 2 completely different communities had been arrested to date in reference to the violence.

The investigation into the clashes has been handed over to the Crime Department and 14 groups have been shaped to take it ahead.

An FIR was registered on Saturday below Indian Penal Code sections, together with 307 (try and homicide), 120 B (legal conspiracy) and 147 (rioting), and provisions of the Arms Act in reference to the incident.

In the meantime, a 28-year-old man who was seen opening fireplace throughout the violence in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri space was arrested. The accused has been recognized as Sonu alias Imam alias Yunus, a resident of C-Block in Jahangirpuri, police stated.

The prime accused within the violence have been recognized as Ansar and Aslam. They’ve been despatched to one-day police custody by a neighborhood courtroom on Monday, reported information company ANI.
