Wagner troops have begun to withdraw from the entrance line metropolis of Bakhmut, the top of the mercenary power has stated.
“We’re leaving Bakhmut by unit. At this time, it’s now 5 o’clock within the morning, Could 25,” stated Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner founder, in a video on his Telegram channel.
The video confirmed the Wagner chief strolling among the many ruins of the town and chatting with fighters.
Mr Prigozhin had stated on Saturday that Bakhmut had fallen to his fighters, who had been spearheading the marketing campaign to seize it for a number of months. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday hailed Russia’s victory within the jap metropolis.
Mr Prigozhin had beforehand introduced that his mercenary fighters would depart the town between Could 25 and June 1, transferring management of the captured metropolis to the Russian military.
