
Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna on Wednesday introduced the BJP authorities’s seventh state Finances since 2017. In his opening remarks Suresh Khanna stated that the state recorded a 16.8 per cent Gross State Home Product (GSDP) in 2021-22 is larger than the nationwide development fee.
“I’m pleased to tell that within the 12 months 2021-2022, a development of 16.8 per cent was recorded within the state’s Gross State Home Product (GSDP), which was greater than the nation’s development fee,” Khanna stated.
The Finance minister additional stated, “Within the period of worldwide recession, the expansion fee of the state is encouraging. Earlier than 2017, the unemployment fee of the state was 14.4 per cent. In the present day, it has come all the way down to about 4.2 per cent.”
He added {that a} 19 per cent Gross State Home Product (GSDP) is estimated for the fiscal 12 months 2023–2024.
The Finance minister introduced a Rs 6.9 lakh crore Finances for 2023-24. Final 12 months, the state authorities introduced an annual Finances of Rs 6.15 lakh crore. A supplementary Finances for Rs 33,769.55 crore was introduced in December 2022, taking the entire measurement of the Finances to about Rs 6.50 lakh crore.

On this Finances, the UP Finance minister stated that the entire receipts are estimated at Rs 6,83,292.74 crore, which incorporates income receipts of Rs 5,70,865.66 crore and capital receipts of Rs 1,12,427.08 crore.
The share of tax income in income receipts is Rs 4,45,871.59 crore. This consists of its personal tax income of Rs 2,62,634 crore and the state’s share in central taxes of Rs 1,83,237.59 crore.
The fiscal deficit is estimated at Rs 84,883.16 crore, which is 3.48 % of the estimated Gross State Home Product for the 12 months, the Finance minister stated.
The UP Finances was primarily targeted on infrastructure growth, the welfare of farmers, and girls empowerment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has termed this the price range for ‘Naya Uttar Pradesh’ saying that it will add new golden chapters within the historical past of socioeconomic and cultural growth of the state.
